Whoa, whoa, whoa...chelimo is not some punk scrub. He's a 5 time all American, and has run 3.37 (at altitude), as well as 13.21. The 5k back in 2012. He hasn't just miraculously improved out of nowhere as you're insinuating. Advised by Dan Browne in the wings as well.

Only good run has been rupp that jogged that 61.30 half marathon.
You think Rowbury- 8.53 is slow for your season opener?
Just haters trying to make the NOP look bad.
Rowbury had zero competition. She had one goal which was the world indoor qualifier of 9 flat or faster which she easily achieved.
i guess fantasizing negative thoughts makes some people feel better
For someone that has run 3.56 for a 1500, 8.53 is not great. She also had a rabbit.

So what. She achieved her goal for that race.
Why in the world are you people so dense?
If she wanted to run a very fast 3k, she certainly would not attempt to do so at a meet with zero competition
Zero competition means a single runner in a race; not really a race, just a run. When two or more people are in a race it is a competition. The assumed winner could well lose: the tale of the tortoise and the hare.

How on earth did you win the race to the egg? I mean seriously.
It's January! If a runner was burning up the track/road/country at this time of year would you seriously rate his chances of hitting peak form in August?
I thought most people who posted on this site knew something about the sport; I was amazed at the number of people who tried to read something serious into Farah's defeat over the country in Edinburgh. What bearing do you think this has on his Olympic chances? For all anyone knows Farah (and all other NOP athletes) might be running 200 miles a week in thrice daily sessions. Probably not - but hard training could explain their less than brilliant races so far this year.
Farah is trying to emulate Viren; double, double gold medalist. How well did Viren ever race in January of Olympic year? Did he ever make any sort of competitive appearance in January?
Facts:In 2013, Rupp ran 3:50 mile and 7:30 3000m indoorHe finished 4th at the 2013 WC over 10,000mNOP usually double peak...Know your facts...

I'd say it's January of an Olympic year and ALL of their focus is on the Olympics... they're probably putting in a HUGE block of training right now... I'd be curious to see what this group did the last Olympic year at this time...

Wow, you are an ignorant one. Are you capable of reading and comprehending? No, you are not. Imbeciles like you discount other runners in a race. Your NOP girl DID NOT a run alone. There were other runners in the race. This concept--competition--is one you fail to grasp. When your heroes run you see no one else.

Fact: Last year, Cam Levins opened with a mere 3:58 mile, third week of January. A few weeks later he had the best meet of his life winning the Armory Track Invitational mile and then beating Galen in the two mile 30 minutes later.
They will be fine.

Figurative speech is what you fail to grasp!
Peaking at the right time is not an NOP exclusive.
But their peak tends to be better than others.
Now add Cain to the lot (with her 9:23 for 3000m)
Craig Lutz > NOP

Of course, I had to bring it up...
Rupp 7:57...
I know, I know, it's only Jan 29th. He's training for the marathon. It was a low key meet. Probably just a workout...
However, NOPs never did this before. That's certainly slower than his post race workouts.
Why the he&k are they running so slow?

Because it's January 29, he's trauning for a marathon, it was a low key meet, and probably just a workout.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
