Another vote for Wesley Korir!
M Wittenberg, I could see that. Or push N Willis into retirement now and vote him in!

They need an outsider. Having the inmates running the asylum is not working. It doesn't even need to be a track person, just an honest person.

Actually a good suggestion. An outsider with political experience. This could also set her up for a future NFL commissioner job.
Nobody in the IAAF is.
Why was he so reticent in abandoning Nike? What of his company (CSM) being mentioned as potentially spinning the Russian cover up? Why didnt he furnish information (the other emails) in the Papa Doack and Davies email exchange, and other related emails. IAAF is not fit for purpose.
I dont think Professioanl sport is fir for purpose. That is unless the purpose is to line billionaires (sports and TV corpos) pockets with more cash. All the recent efforts of IAAF have been spin. Its the same with every pro sport. Its illusion, not clean sport. I wont be watching or contributing in anyway to it.
Brendan foster giving Coe his backing says it all. Does nobody see anything WRONG with the head of the Great Run series giving a big thumbs up to the IAAF? We are complaining about corruption in IAAF, yet we give huge airtime to a 'feavour' being given by a coprporate sports head to the IAAF, without batting an eye lid. Sport is dead.
REad the report. The reasoning is all in there.
Also, you might want to read the links specifically about Coe that I posted on the other thread about the conference call. Coe, both at the IAAF and at FIFA (I suspect at the IOC as well although I haven't looked into that) was part and parcel of the culture of corruption, profiting personally from the actions of the organization while simultaneously serving on the boards and panesl making those decisions.
As for your last point, Coe certainly was Diack's right hand man on the council. He says so himself repeatedly. Anyway, based on that report, there is nobody who is currently on the IAAF council who can credibly lead a reform effort. They were all part of it. It has to be an outsider.
I would agree that Nick Willis would be the best person to lead.

No way! Despite his past accomplishments, Miller is currently tightly entwined with the corrupt Hightower administration.

That's debatable. If you been in track and field for decades how could you not be associated guilty or not? Look at Coe or anyone else who's been there that long. It's no different than our government and special interests controlling everything. USATF is in better shape with him chairing I'll tell you that. This new of awareness might just save our sport and country!

Thank you, I thought so too. Anyone that could successfully clean up track & field AND football would be legendary. Anyone that could introduce and foster a culture of integrity in sports can change the world. Let's use T&F as the catalyst though. What are the chances of a Rice/Wittenberg team leading this change?
How about a fascist dictator like Ayatollah Khamenei, Benjamin Netanyahu, Hussein bin Talal, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, or Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan?

This would require a significant PR, AR & WR. Could they really change the world based on their current mileage, quality efforts and recent results? Are they even doing Yasso 800s?
USC legend Ronnie Lott would be a great IAAF President.
Which was what he did with the 2012 Olympics. He didn't try to be managing director, he brought in really gifted, experience managers such as Paul (now also Lord) Deighton.
Give him a year. Anything he comes up with needs to approved by IAAF congresses and so on. He's the President of a federation, not a dictator who instils fear and obedience in 200+ countries.
No, we've had enough of smelly Europeans.
Unfortunately, Sebastian Coe is the “best†person for the job.
Do not forget that the president of the IAAF has to be elected. Who wants Sergei Bubka to be the president?
Seb Coe is corrupt, but his replacement would be even worse.
How has no one said Renee Anne Shirley?
I swear, these IAAF threads must be the only threads on the internet talking about Seb Coe that don't have pages of Deano arguing with Ventolin about Jim Ryun.
