It's phenomenal how much personal hatred people on this website have for Farah, Rupp, Salazar, and co.
Yea, they push the limits of what's legal (and maybe beyond), and certainly aren't my favourite athletes, but I find myself rooting for them...
I often wonder about this. I definitely agree with your general gist.
The NOP is shady and spoiled. Despite this, I watch all of Galen's races and am always rooting for him to set ARs and/or compete for the win. When team Salazar announces what records his athletes plan on chasing throughout the indoor season, I find myself genuinely looking forward to those dates. For me, the BU Valentine Invite is more exciting than the Super Bowl.
Anyways, cheating sucks. NOP probably cheats. I admit that I fall into the camp that believes most athletes do, especially the very best. I wish it wasn't so, but I truly feel that it is. Does everyone here really believe that Rudisha, Kiprop, Bolt, Makh, etc are clean? Of course not. I would guess that most posters believe at least one of these men to be guilty (and with good reason). This belief makes hating specific athletes, such as Rupp, seem silly to me. Hate the game, not the player (so to speak).
