Sure like no one in the Ultra community is doping. No testing = doping.
I think Joe Gray has an issue because he's probably lost money / trophies to dopers. Hard to argue with that.
I'd say let him run for fun, who cares, but no competitive awards. Participation medal and t-shirt, fine. Age group or overall award, no way.
thats a lot of money for winning a trail run !!!
unreal !!!!!
how did a trail run get $35,000 as prize money ???
what was 2nd place worth ???
What kind of shoes did he run in?
How is Lance even competing? I thought he was going to spend the rest of his life in court.
idk man. its a trail running race. its not like he is getting a shit ton of rewards for doing this. i say just let the dude do what he wants but if there is some sort of reward he is gaining then by all means punish him or just take away the reward and still let him race cause he does enjoy it.

I know Gray pretty well and I have never known him to speak on doping issues to gain attention. He truly has an issue with it. The article doesn't mention why in the first place he talks of the issue. Joe is saying what about the guys that got cheated, did they get a second chance at a career? No because Lance stole their youth/prime of their careers. Glad to see Joe and Sage speaking out, funny not too many other elites have said ANYTHING. Very telling and raises eyebrows for this fella towards some elites that I now wonder about
Definitely disappointed by Gray's comments. No longer a fan.
I hope you're more disappointed in Lance's doping history. Or still clinging to your LIVESTRONG t-shirt?
Although I don't think Lance running in this particular trail race is a big deal, I do appreciate Gray's perspective as an elite athlete.
Gray is a pro runner, he is supposed to be outspoken about dirty athletes. Anyone who is a fan of sport should be a fan of clean sport. Gray earned a fan today from me! Lose one gain one I suppose
Why did Sage get tired of making shit out of Brooks shoe boxes?

Lance Armstrong actively participated in a vigorous doping program and encouraged others to do the same.... He is "THE" doper.
Be careful telling this story.
USA cycling ran the team, and the doping, and the UCI helped. Carmichael doped him under the old USA cycling.
The same guy running Usps and the doping is still running usac. Armstrong was not alone.
Lance was on Joe Rogan recently. Good listen.

Lots of people think PEDs only affect individual races and their effects wear off. But they can have a lasting effect. For example, if I normally have the physical ability to sustain 80 miles/week running for 10 years, but then using PEDs am able to sustain 100 miles/week running for 10 years, there is a lasting effect on my fitness beyond those ten years even after I stopped using the PEDs. So the unfair advantage lasts awhile.
If you've ever seen professional bodybuilders after they retire and quit using steroids you would know this not to be true.

One thing's for sure, the guy is driven to succeed. Imagine if Ryan Hall had that fire to be the best.
really? the dude did all his workouts at 4:40 pace for the longest time in an attempt to break the WR at the time. the dude had drive.

What do ancient Germanic languages have to do with any of this???
