You can't back out of this. This has now officially been documented on the internet.
I shit myself all the time. Not worried.

Yes that got my attention as well.
So funny how some people are so peeved that he has this time.
If you are going to run a bunch of miles, you should do it on the trails anyhow. Running a bunch of miles on roads is murder on your body.
Ryan, take a 2-year break from marathons and focus on 5k/xc.

I've done extensive research on the LRC boards to understand this. Here's what i've learned:
The problem is that it actually happened, BUT ALSO if some other people coulda woulda had the same circumstances then those other people maybe coulda shoulda woulda also had an even BETTER time maybe even though they didn't. So that means that his actual time doesn't mean that he can actual do it even though he actual did it.

"Retired" runners Sage Canady and Max King competed pretty well at the US Marathon Championships this year. Patrick Smyth is no slouch either.
Who?
Will he be lubing with the special oil that Max and Sage swear by? That is got to replace his lost income from Nissan ads.

I've never wanted someone to run 2:10 so badly
Good bet Hall will go to Ultras after the trials. He's not going to 5k/10k, it's done. He can still make good money being a trail guy if he can be competitive. If not, he can go the Pete Rose/Rodgers/Shorter route and show up to marathons and sign stuff, do a jog with the gallowalkers, and talk for a few minutes for $5-10k a pop.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
