Not even you believe the above... unless you have your own definition of obsolete.

Struggling to understand why nobody has called this yet.
I am giving the guy a very solid 7/10. Some angry people on this thread.
If he had lowered the goal time a little, and actually got some constructive training advice, alongside the angry people, he would have gone 9/10.

Could be true. He might just be looking for clicks and readers- so he chose a topic he thought would achieve it. And then it is like he's playing a character- and doing a good job of it. Sort of a low energy dreamer.

I'm getting really tired of the troll rating system, since nobody knows how to use it. If this guy really did troll, then is all that work worth just a 7/10? I think not.
So often troll-posts get 0/10 just because the rater thinks it makes him look cool to be rejectionary. It's no different than a player technique that employs some form of "Yeah, you're kind of cute" when the woman is very attractive. But who are the people that these raters are trying to game? Anonymous guys that they'll never meet face to face? Lame, just lame.
Granted, "The obvious answer" did not engage in such egregious behavior as a 0/10 rater, but he still deserves to be called out.
There's no updates. What happened?
What's his current 10k time at 41?
Here's the deal. A decent club runner at 41 runs 37 minutes in the 10k. They have trouble breaking 5:00 in the mile.
Running a sub-four:00 mile at 41 is harder than making the Olympics at 29.
How many 40+ have broken 4:00? Under a dozen, right?
It is good to dream, but sub 5:00 is good, very good.

No updates in over 3 weeks.
I was lucky enough to be coached by Bill a long time ago. I thought I was done and he showed me that I had only just begun. He changed my life. The article below has a classic "Bill" quote upon hearing about Tony Young's 4:08 mile -
“I had not heard. If you are in contact with Tony, send my congratulations. I am happy someone finally ran faster. Re the track size — it should not matter, but it probably will attract some attention and create some discussion. I think the IAAF does not recognize times run on oversized tracks. But hey — 4:08 is 4:08!!â€
http://masterstrack.com/the-masters-mil/Anyone have any updates on this dude?
He gave up after.. .1 week.
The guy woulda had more chance in going to the moon than a sub 4:00 mile.
Still he coulda achieved something else like even a sub 6:00 mile and then a Follow-up piece about just how hard a sub 4:00 mile actually is.
6 minutes? I don't think he could have broken 8. Then he could have written a piece about how he just has to cut his time in half.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
