Thank you, Rahm, for doing the right thing.
1. Do cops just forget that they have cams running?
2. What does "Safety Zone" (written on road) mean?
3. Do cops only know how to shoot-to-kill instead of wounding to prevent suspect flight?
I guess this is the part where i would be compelled to share the numerous examples of white men and women doing more and not being killed. But seeing as how people like you(and others here)wouldn't really care, i dont think it would matter.
Ok maybe one...

Waiting.
Still waiting. Must be the darn liberal

Don't bring a knife to a gunfight.

every cop is a criminal. If we executed all ops, the crime rate would plummet.
Too long of a video. I was on my second bag of popcorn before we got to the action.
She looks to be Native American to me. And women have a whole different standard of penalties. The structure is: Black men-execute, white men-appropriate penalty, women (any race)- reduced penalty.$79K bond and assault charges for attempted murder of a cop performing his duty.

1. The victim brought the tragedy upon himself. This is not a legal conclusion, but a statement of fact. It is simply a very bad idea to wander in the middle of a busy street in a crime ridden neighborhood high on PCP and brandishing a knife, just as it was a bad idea for Michael Brown to lunge at an officer's gun in a squad car. This is not to say that the victim deserved his fate - just that conduct such as his does not lead to pleasant outcomes.
2. This having been said, I don't see how the police officer is justified in shooting the young man. He is at some level criminally culpable, because the threat to him was not imminent.
3. I think the police officer is overcharged with first degree murder. I suspect this is to satiate the public, but given that the victim was high on drugs, wandering in the middle of the street with a knife, I think it challenging for the prosecution to get a first degree murder charge to stick. The defendant will be able to point to some fear, and deny the prosecution the change to truly substantiate malice aforethought. This is all the more so if the trial is moved to a jurisdiction away from Chicago.
4. The level of violent crime committed by black males is simply unconscionable. I accept the perception that this statement is a deflection against what appears to be a fairly clear case of police misconduct, but
these incidents remind the general public, like it or not, that the black community has a significant problem (yes, all groups commit crimes, but the rate of black males is shockingly disproportionate to their number). The Black Lives Matter movement would have more credibility if they acknowledged this fact.
The cop was only charged probably because he shot 16 times. If the cop would have stopped after 2-3 shots he would have been good. The guy had a knife and even a minimal movement not seen in the video can be seen as a threat.
Who gives a f&*# what color the officer and the victim were. A cop shot and killed a citizen 16 times. You are one of the pussies who buys into the media's attempts to get blacks and whites pissed and blaming color rather than the person. GTFO.
we should have an open season on letsrun racists

They are trained to aim for body center, and that is a place that have a lot of vital organs that lead to death.
This is too stupid to respond to.....

Almost all of the cases of Blacks being shot by cops are created by the person being shot.....STOP BREAKING THE LAW......is that too hard for you'all ?
1. Outside of being arrested and thrown in jail, the victim didn't bring any of what happened upon himself. This theme of trying to justify the overreaction of cops is simply pathetic. Do you know how many kids steal candy from stores, adults stealing small items from walmart, etc. Do they deserve to be shot multiple times? This guy being high and holding a knife doesn't immediately equal 16 shots most of which came after he was down. Justifying that means you might as well have pulled the trigger yourself.
2. You've already screwed up..
3. You're unbelievably disingenuous. Do you understand why he wasnt charged with 2nd or 3rd degree murder? Was his decision to shoot based on him being overly emotional? Was the death caused by a simple reckless action? If not than it doesn't qualify......When a guy shoots someone 16 times, its not an accident or crime of passion. Also, there's nothing in that video that shows a direct threat for the officer to be threatened by.....NOT one that requires 16 shots. A man high on pcp with a knife IS a threat, but not one thats walking away from you.
4. This is too sad of an attempt to do exactly what you thought it would look like. You only see black crime in a vacuum as if it happens by default with no cause or origin. Not only that, your ignorance as to what people "acknowledge" is not their fault but your own. The majority of the black community arent criminals and the majority have no patience for any of the crime that some commit. Do you see white greed in the same way? White men are disproportionately represented in white collar crimes and organized crime but the statistics seem to forget to mention those on the 6 o'clock news. It seems that no matter how many situations arise that prove that there is still a systemic racism/oppression the focus is always on the symptom and never the source.

You're right.
I always forget that Illinois has mandatory summary execution without trial for both intoxication and possession of a pocket knife.
In your mind its not evil for a cop thats trained to operate under protocol to shoot someone 14-15 times AFTER they've already fallen to the ground from the 1st shot.....
Keep trying to justify it. Maybe one day you'll get pulled over for a taillight not working and you'll have a passenger in the car that had weed on him. Then the cop will be justified in shooting the both of you after claiming his life was in danger.

If you havent noticed, the violence ie riots have only occured when the officer or person doing the killing was let go. We can argue all day about whether the shooter in other cases was "justified" but the main theme is that the shooter got off.
In Baltimore 6 cops were suspended and charged and the huge riot came after that.
