Hilarignorance on parade. She is "contracted" because she is struggling to stay upright in heels.

I read recently she said she struggled with injuries her first 2 years in college and wasn't as small. I wonder if it was bone weakness? I had an ED and gained about 15 pounds back and I eat fine and weigh enough now but the injuries have not stopped. Not sure how these girls do it

it appears she struggled with stress fractures the first 2 years at ND and then came back obviously faster and healthier. Gives me hope. I'm a HS senior and just got over my second stress fracture..trying to comeback so I can hopefully make a D1 squad.

The two pictures above break my heart, she is obviously on the wrong path.

Maybe try a calcium/vitamin D regimen to strengthen your bones.

Not a dad, but as a coach it is a bit depressing. Very few athletes realize you can get extremely lean, but not for very long periods at a time. It's the type of thing you do for the Olympics maybe, or possibly an NCAA Championship your senior year. But I doubt she'll realize this and put on 10 pounds in the next 2 months.
Hope she does, otherwise it looks like she has about 12-24 months of good running ahead of her before it all comes crashing down.
It's not right for coaches to look the other way. The ND coach is obviously aware of this.
Up until those pictures were posted I ignored the ED crap because I thought trolls were just trolling, but if you look at the arm she is giving the high 5 with, it looks a little "fuzzy." Everybody knows what I mean one of the tell-tale signs of losing too much weight and not eating enough.
Female winners always endure much more scrutiny than males. Nobody has sounded the alarm for how much fatter Cheserek was as a high school runner than he is now.

Yes, sadly that's the lanugo trying to protect the body because she's depriving it of calories. A classic sign of an eating disorder.
SHE WON. SHE DID WHAT IT TOOK. iT DOESNT MEAN SHE HAS AN EATING DISORDER. SHE JUST SLIMMED UP FOR THE RACE
I agree...she's lost quite a bit of weight. I wonder how long she'll manage to stay healthy. This is hard to see because so many girls look up to runners like her and notice the weight loss then take things too far.
I'm a senior in high school and I live in the louisville area so my team attended the NCAA champs. On the way home, the coversation was "that's why they are so fast. They are so skinny!"
Well folks here we are. Outdoor track time and both Molly Seidel and Allie O are toast. Both injured and done for the season. Like many on this message board have expressed you can't avoid disaster forever when you are under fueling and overtraining. The two most accomplished and clearly most malnourished have eliminated themselves. Coaches and fellow runners take note!!!

Where does it say either are out for the season?
I remember seeing Allie injured (dropping out of race) at indoors, but where does it say Molly is injured?

It doesn't 'say' that anywhere, but most collegians wouldn't sit out the entire season leading up to their conference meet and then hope to run regional qualifying marks in mid-May.
Molly does not have any TFRRS marks for outdoors, and it would seem unlikely that she is simply waiting to open with an eye on NCAA post-season and the Olympic Trials.
Sad to see another broken talent.

Find me one source that claims Seidel is injured and out for the season. One.
