Great kick. If he races like that at Regionals and NCAAs, he is a serious contender. Tough team race. VT did well to finish close to 3 top 10 teams.

State closed well. 3k in and they were 9th.
What the hell happened to UNC? Seems like they always blow up at ACCs
Who?

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

As much as I would like Syracuse to beat Colorado at NCAA. After yesterday's race, it's now obvious (to me) that Syracuse's number 5 (and number 4) is not strong enough this year (as compared to Colorado's). Lennon is a good runner (sub 29 minute 10,000m), but he was 50 seconds behind the winner yesterday. That is too much of a gap. He has unfortunately steadily gotten slower and slower as the season progressed (instead of faster, which was expected given his level of talent).
WHY IS MIAMI SO BAD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
Thanks for the ESPN3 tip.

Curtin and Knight pulled away from the group together but Curtin just had more speed than Knight over the last 150m or so.
Looked to me just as I said I thought it might have gone down. Knight kicked early (just like at Wisco) and someone covered and kicked harder/later.
Look at their mid-d program though
Once again NC State proves why they are miles ahead of UNC in cross country, and that isn't going to change any time soon. Can't imagine why any high schooler would choose Carolina over State if they are even remotely concerned with their running careers. If you want to go party and joint a fraternity, sure, go to Carolina. If you want to be the best runner you can be, go to State.
At the meet I heard Joel Hubbard got food poisoning from dinner the night before and decided to race anyway.

I'm calling BS. When teams eat together, food poisoning is rarely isolated.

If true, this could make a difference. Hubbard ran well at Wisconsin (was 4th Syracuse runner). He's obviously a good runner (4 minute miler). Also, Germano did run well at ACC (he's getting faster/better at every race).
So if Hubbard comes back to Wisconsin level (or better), Germano keeps improving and Lennon is only there as the wildcard, maybe Syracuse still has a shot.
I believe he just had a bad day. Needing to find and broadcast an excuse is dumb.
He'll be better in two weeks: their 4th man if Germano runs par at regionals, or 5th man if Germano continues at the level found at ACCs.

Yeah, why doesn't everyone just try to do that. They should also run faster than the other people and spend less time finishing the race than the other people.
Yes, those are great ideas too.
So, six teams make nationals (mens)?
Huge difference between a bad day and running while sick.
He ran very poorly. He was 1:14 behind the winner!!!! If it's just a bad day, then we can't expect anything better from him this season (probably nothing equal either) than what he ran at Wisconsin. If he was sick then he could match or improve on his Wisconsin performance. Huge difference for Syracuse.
Nothing on the Syracuse site about Hubbard being sick..
I am shaking my head after having seen this post. UNC is a WAY better school than NC State from an academic stand point. UNC is widely regarded as one of the top public schools in the country. Chapel Hill is also a much more enjoyable town to be in. If you care REMOTELY about your future after just 4 years of a non revenue sport, then don't go to NC State. Before you bash me I will say there is probably .01% chance that you were recruited by any of the programs I was. Geiger contacted me many, many times and at no point did I have serious interest in NC State. There have been plenty of Footlocker guys flop at NC State. Your best bet in the ACC is to go to UVA. You get the ideal combination of an elite academic school, and also a great distance program.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
