Gerry Lindgren would have easily run 14 flat on the current Mt. Sac course while in HS. No one could have beat him in xc. No one.
He did in fact run at Mt. Sac while a HS'er in an Olympic exhibition race on the 4-mile course in 1964. He won the race, beating soon-to-be Olympic Champions Billy Mills and Bob Schul in the process.
His time was 20:00, obviously a short course, even though Stanford legend Payton Jordan swore it was accurate and championed Lindgren's race as the geatest thing he ever saw.
