After Wisco and Pre-Nats, I'm re-redoing my Men's prediction:
Barring injury or blowups, you can take these top 2 to the bank.
1. Syracuse. They could beat Colorado this year. They're that good.
2. Virginia. Laid an egg at ACCs last year. They're just too deep this year for that to happen again. (Remember, you can run 9 guys at ACCs. UVA's 9th guy is better than most team's 5th man.)
The next tier is basically coming down to the battle of the 5th man in NC State and Louisville vs the relative consistency of VA Tech.
3. NC State. I'll take NC State because of their consistency and improvement. But, they're banking on two Frosh (Baldwin and Hall). One of them has to run well for NC State to beat the next two teams.
4. VA Tech. Looked great at Pre-Nats, but that was one performance. They're no. 5 is a 1500m stud and they're 6th guy is good, too.
5. Louisville. Their top 4 are scary, but 5th man is too weak.
Tier III is tough, too.
6. Florida St. Better performance at Wisco. Home course.
7. Duke. It pains me to put them here :( They have a low stick and have shown improvement.
8. Notre Dame. They're nicked up. If healthy, they could be as high at 6th.
9. UNC. Falling six spots from last year. They peaked at the right time last year, so they could do better than this, but they lost a lot of talent, too.
Everyone else / don't care...
Last observation. I think the ACC could get 6 team into Nats assuming Florida State auto-qualifies.
