So my high school XC coach has no background on running or coaching but somehow she is the head coach. I guess our hs athletic director doesn't care about XC because I live in the southeast and all he cares about is football. Anyways, she has us running around 15-20 mpw. She also doesn't know what easy days and hard days are. She times us on every run (usually 3-4 miles) and thinks we should be getting faster and faster everyday. So basically every day is a hard day. Although I still doubt I will get injured considering the low mileage. She says she wants the boys to get down to 22 minutes in the 5k and the girls down to 27. I don't understand why she wants us running such mediocre/bad times but I don't think she had any idea what other schools are running as far as times, training etc. Oh well, I just thought I would get this off of my chest and see if there is anyone else with this same situation.
