I can tell you, if you've ever been privy to one, you'll never forget it. I saw one done in nursing school, and it is really horrible. That clinical day certainly changed my views and perspective.

While it is an objective event, I think birth is a meaningless point because it is often arbitrary. Labor begins for a variety of reasons, is induced, etc. I am a twin. So, I was a person after birth, but my sibling wasn't for another 10 minutes?
Are you a parent? I think your view is more difficult to hold if you've experienced the birth of a child, but it is held by some with children. I believe conception is the only actual objective point. I can at least understand some different views, but the idea that a child that could survive outside the womb is not a person is outside the realm of logic.

So, when they have all of these kids, don't you think it's kind of stupid to condemn them to a life of poverty and or neglect because you don't want to give them any assistance at all? Better a life of poverty and neglect than no life at all. Give them a chance, don't make a life or death situation for them.
