Didn't Centro smash the WR for fastest 10th place finish in a 1500m?
What are you all talking about? Ripped didn't race today, and clearly he is the ONLY person doping. The press says so.
This is exactly why I watch athletics now... to see just how ridiculously fast human beings can go!MOAR DRUGGS!!!!

Athletics has been plagued by blood doping since 1995. Several years ago, some simpletons on this forum were laughting, when I stated that blood doping among Kenyans was rampant. After Kenyan officials implemented a little bit more strict doping controls two years ago, 22 Kenyan dopers have been caught - including Rita Jeptoo, multiple winner of the Boston and Chicago marathons.
During the recent years, many new drugs have been developed and substituted the o'le good classics such as steroids and EPO.
Google: GW 501516, Aicar, SARMs (Ostarine, Andarine), GHRP, GHRH...
It's an utter farce. This is why I don't watch athletics anymore. It has got out of control.

Ah true dat way to go Centrovitzzz
It does feel like an April fools joke.
I'm looking at the results and I flabbergasted. Everybody ran incredibly (no they are not all on drugs). But this must have been more than perfect conditions...
It's not the athletes doping, or they'd be running that fast everywhere else too. It's the TRACK. The track is doping.
You know something is fishy when asal is painting the lane lines.

Ok I am just too dense to get these drugs.
What are some of the primary mechanisms and or how so they benefit the athlete?
EPO I get. Steroids I get. But wth are all these peptides ketones etc?

Blood doping's been around a lot longer than '95. Do you even know what blood doping is?

No the track is short
I'm suspicious that the track surface is somewhat designed to enhance mid distance running mechanics.

it's also hot there
that's all it takes for fantastic 800/1500 :
0 wind / hot
except 0 wind wrecks sprints/horizontal jumps
also no chance fast 5k / 10k
Not every event was blazingly fast.
w1500 blazing fast
m1500 blazing fast
m800 blazing fast
mshot blazing far, DLR
wsteeple WL
w400 WL
More than 1/3 of events were at least a WL
In the 100m, the top 2 are "former" drug cheats. If they are clean now (which I doubt), it lends credence to the idea the drugs affect the body long after they have been used. This is likely true for mid distance runners too. Dope up during off season with no testing (especially in rural 3rd world countries), get off them before the racing and testing begin. The training and the money is in the bank, but no positive tests.
I wish I was not so cynical, but the facts have brought me here.
They're all dialed in with dope by their endocrinologists.

Someone calls himself "sports physiologist" and then says blood doping has been around since 1995. Typical Letsrun stupidity.
Events up to 800 are usually run close to all-out. The 1500 is typically tactical to some extent. Monaco 1500 seems to be the one race that EVERYONE guns for time, every year now. It particularly helps that Kiprop always peaks and pushes the pace no matter what (last year he withered somewhat).
Unsurprising. Athletes ramping up to peak for WC

Yeah, because nobody has been peaking or ramping it up for the past 10 years. Go back and read all the pre-meet comments about how the weather was going to wreak havoc on times. Then a few LRC faves run fast times and watch how quickly the story changes. Except for Rowbury and Gatlin - doping, of course. But the rest are peaking for Worlds.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
