Fastest Marathon by Type 1 Diabetic

This question has been posted twice before by Lorenzo the Magnificent but hasn't been definitively answered here and my Google search was unrevealing. Who is the fastest type 1 diabetic marathoner? Alex Collins ran a 2:48 in 2014 at the London Marathon and that is best time I could find so far. I know there are competitive cyclists and at least one competitive triathlete that are type 1 diabetics as well, but couldn't find much about runners. Couldn't find much for female type 1 diabetics either. Just curious.

Also it appears that at least two patients with end stage renal disease on dialysis have run a marathon. Pretty impressive.

Don't know if Kris Freeman has run a marathon, but he is a pretty competitive runner in the off season. (4-time Olympic XC skier).

He's pretty fit doing 100 mile bike rides at 20 mph one day and 800s at 2:30 another day.

Tommy Neal of CO Springs ran at the 2012 trials. Not sure of his marathon PR.

Looks like 2:30 for Neal in Houston 2013. 1:05 half marathon PR though.

Tommy Neal has run faster than 2:30. He has run in the 29's for 10k along with a 1:05 half-marathon.

My name is Pat Manning and I have been a Type 1 diabetic for 50 years now. Back in the 80's I ran 12 marathons starting with a 3:28 and continued to improve down to my best of 2:27:50. Many of the things that we have today to monitor our blood sugars continuously were of course not available back then. Now I am 67 and will take another shot at a time that will qualify me for Boston. Over the past 3 years I have gotten close to making it to race day with up to 3 hour workouts, but have broken down and gotten injured in the last few weeks of training. The goal has been 3:30, but reality says to get to the starting line healthy a 4:00 should be the goal. Not what I want but a BQ time for anyone at that age and maybe a Type 1 best

Hi, i ran Chicago for 2h50'08 and now um going to run on september in Berlin pursuiting the 2h45.
