I think you would exasperate the problem if you had a lifetime ban for the first offense.
It's already very difficult to catch these people and know who is doing what.
They would be even more invested in covering it up of they were subjected to lifetime bans.
The NFL has a 4 game ban for what track gives a 2 year ban for.
We probably know more about football PED use because of this.
I think a one month ban, in July of the next season would work.
They'd miss a lot of money that month.
And they would be outed and shamed.
But we'd have a better idea of who is juicing.
A lifetime ban won't change their habits and won't help us learn anything new.
