I didn't read anything in this article that sounds like evidence. It sounds like suspicion. Maybe some confirmation bias at work?
Salazar using androgel himself I think is at least 50/50 chance of being legit and prescribed properly by a doctor.
Salazar massaging Rupp is a little weird on an interpersonal level, but doesn't sound illegal or suspicious to me. Rupp could rub in his own androgel without Alberto's help, right?
Put yourself in the shoes of the accused. Would you want to be on trial based on the "evidence" we have so far? Would it meet the threshold of evidence for indictment in your ordinary crime drama movie or tv show?
I'm not arguing NOP is innocent. I'm just saying that we seen have no damning evidence so far. No eyewitess accounts, no positive tests, no cover-up of positive tests, no testimony under oath.
The problem I see with this defense of the NOP (i.e. if I don't see any "hard" evidence, then they should be presumed innocent), is that it could be quite simple to dope someone and never leave any "smoking gun" type of evidence. For example, if Salazar was giving testosterone to only Rupp, all he'd have to do is a) make sure they never talk about it openly, b) always administer the T in private, and c) never give a dose strong enough to trigger a positive test. That really shouldn't be that hard to do. There is no reason you couldn't keep that routine up for years without anybody seeing the deal go down. So I think you might be setting the bar too high in your demands for evidence. The realities of modern doping are that you are more likely to make busts using masses of circumstantial evidence than you are through eyewitness accounts and positive tests.
Furthermore, Salazar currently is not being tried for anything in an actual court. For many of us, we just want to know if he's cheating or not. It's sort of like, let's say maybe you think your wife is cheating on you. Several of your friends say they have seen her going into a hotel with some young stud. She's been acting secretive, deleting her phone records, acting un-passionate towards you, and various other things that seem suspicious. At some point you would have gathered enough evidence to be satisfied that she is in fact cheating on you, despite never witnessing the act, and without necessarily being able to prove it to the satisfaction of the judicial system. And for many (myself included), sure, I'd like to see more evidence come forth and the whole truth be made public, but I've already seen enough to be convinced that Salazar is a cheat, and should be banned from coaching.
