Um, the restaurant made the joke. It's not like she added anything to it. Lord knows she's the 20th person that day to pose in front of it. It's called good marketing.

Emma is arguably the prettiest distance runner in the world. Only the Dibaba sisters compare, in my opinion. Most of you have seen this video, but it's worth watching over and over and over . . .

Perhaps you've confused her with Sara Galimberti.
Instagram over 30,000 followers. Must be doing something right

But she sucks. 15:55 5k PR? SLOW! And Emma is prettier anyways. There's only one other girl who can give her a run for her money, and she's a steeplechaser too. Far slower though, so Emma gets the nod.
This kind of mentality is a reflection of your emotional immaturity.

And why is that?

roger that.
And I was thinking the other day that G. Dibaba is very nice on the eyes, something many of us have overlooked.

I suspect Quigley will improve over the next few years if she can stay healthy and get with a good program. She could've run the 1500 at NCAA and done well. That 1500 speed is what Coburn has been honing and it has been paying off internationally.
There are lots and lots of other beautiful US track athletes, too. I've got SRR's poster up right next to my desk. And I tell my buds at work that I have a thing for all those Eastern European gals, who they think are a bunch of roided-out gorillas. It's a damn good thing the US and USSR never got into a nuclear war and wiped out that great gene pool!
But I kinda feel bad about these discussions as it puts us guys in the category of those who think that women are only as good as their looks, like women's track and field is no better than the Lingerie Football league. It's their intensity, their discipline, their performances, their grace and personalities which make them rock besides beauty. I think quite a few of us would rather watch the gals than the guys.
Sadly, in these days of PC-castration, guys here in the US have to get on the defensive when remarking on a gal's beauty as if he's cheating on his wife or just perving in general.

I don't get it.They're tits. Women have them. Your mother had them.

Wow. A whole thread analyzing this. Its just a goofy picture, nothing more. I'd rather see her pics of the Biltmore Estate.

None of us overlooked that! The beauty of the Dibabas is very frequently discussed on these boards.
I think she got married yesterday. Right?
"Because they're slow. Seriously. It's a lot harder to get excited about a 4:00 1500 than a 3:32 1500."
Let us know when you personally dip under 5.00.
Men don't get how amazing every woman is and how lucky they are to be around them. I'm doing my hair while I'm on let's run. I mean. Yeah. Women can pick up baby toys with their toes while pregnant and on a business call.
Emma's brother Willy got married. Emma was in the wedding. Looked like a godess
And she ran with some local high school kids while there. That's pretty cool. You think anyone from NOP would do something like that?
This is a good comment. Sometimes I feel bad focusing on these athletes' looks, because, like you said, their running always comes first, as it does with my appreciation of male athletes. Sometimes I feel guilty or like a misogynist, but I think it's possible to appreciate various runners' looks and also be a huge fan of the sport. Like you said, the American women lately are way more fun to watch than the American men.
I mean, it's like Jenny Simpson and Molly Huddle vs. Galen Rupp. It's obvious that Huddle/Simpson are a heck of a lot more fun to root for.
There's nothing wrong or misogynistic about appreciating a beautiful woman, especially a strong, healthy female runner. On the contrary, appreciation of female charms is an expression of love for natural beauty. This is a mostly male forum, although it would be nice to have more women runners on it. Calling Emma Coburn a beautiful woman is something I'm sure she would love to hear--don't all women (and men, too) like to hear that they are attractive? But Emma is also an outstanding runner and America's best steeplechaser. The reason we're focusing on her physical beauty in this post is because the fun picture she took with her sister has nothing to do with running, but rather two pretty girls simply having fun and being flirtatious. Appreciate Emma for both her beauty and her talent. She's a very lucky girl to have both, and we're very lucky to get to admire and appreciate both.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
