Well Rowan clearly didn't deserve that national ranking, but TCNj and Ramapo should move right into the rankings to take their spot. TCNJ proved they are the real deal, and Ramapo proved they are better than most had thought. Both beat RPI handily, and TCNJ averaged 25:18 and Ramapo 25:32. The course may have been a little short, but nothing crazy. And regardless the head to head battles show more than any time can.
My prediction for new regional rankings this week.
1. Geneseo - Raced a B team at Rowan, still the team to beat in the AR after their performance at Mike Woods where they beat St. Lawrence by a good amount. St. Lawrence did average faster today than Geneseo did at Mike Woods, but I don't know enough about their course and have to use head to head for this one.
2. St. Lawrence - Averaged 25:13 in Wisconsin. Know nothing about the course, but that's fast. 2 guys under 25. Time-wise today, they look really good. Honestly based on SLU's performace today, they could take the win too at regionals, but I do have a feeling the course they were on must have been really fast. Geneseo still the favorite based on Mike Woods though.
3. NYU - Check the results from today yourself.

I do not doubt the course was flat and short. Obviously the course was short and fast with those times, but when you see them with a pack that tight and that close to Allegheny who averaged 25:28 at Paul short 2 weeks ago, you realize they are the real deal. They have not raced much, but clearly they are ready. Have to have them in consideration of winning now.
4. TCNJ - Averaged 25:18 at Rowan for second not too far behind Haverford. Should get them nationally ranked. Were missing one of the guys in their top 5, but they are so tight of a pack it doesn't too big of a difference. They have a deep squad with a good group of seniors who I think learned their lesson at regionals last year. If they run smart, I like their chances at a top 5 finish in the region.
5. Ramapo - Averaged 25:32 at Rowan. One of their top 5 was a little off their game today having been sick recently, but with the exception of him, the rest of their top 5 PRed. When all 5 our healthy, I believe they can make a push at the top 3, but it won't be an easy challenge. Amazing improvement this year for Ramapo though.
6. RPI - Averaged 25:42, 6th place at Rowan behind Ramapo by quite a few points. Fazio still looks good as their front runner, but even though their pack of 2-6 is tight, they are too far back to beat any of those top 4 teams unless something changes. Now they ran much better at Mike Woods than they did at Rowan time-wise. Not sure why, don't know anyone personally from RPI. If anyone has any insight please feel free to share. But as far as complaining the Rowan course was short, none of the Mike Woods guys seemed to run way faster at Rowan, so I'll just leave it at that.
7. Fredonia - Averaged 25:12 same course NYU averaged 24:48 on. 24 seconds behind an NYU team I think would probably average about 25:15 or so on a real course. So put Fredonia at 25: 36 and that's why I have them at 7.
8. Hamilton - Had the weekend off. This is where I believe they fit in after all the other teams races though.
9. Rowan averaged 25:45 at their home meet. Definitely not a nationally ranked team, not sure what made that happen last week. They were about the same amount behind RPI as they were at Mike Woods, so maybe both teams had an off race? Don't know for sure, but I'm giving hamilton and Fredonia the edge over them right now. They're good, but not great.
10. Oneonta - At the Connecticut College Invitational Oneonta averaged 26:00. Not terrible, but nothing amazing about that. I got them at 10 right now.
Honorable mention: Rochester. Averaged 25:52 at Rowan. They look pretty good, but I had to give Oneonta 10 over them. The Conn College course is a true 8k, and I do believe Rowan was a bit short. Rochester is close to breaking into the top 10 though,
