My way to early prediction is St. Lawrence, RPI, Geneseo, and Wells college under the guidance of Jack Daniels will be in the top 50 teams at regionals. Sawyer Hitchcock having not run this past track season will be ready for a top 100 finish at regionals as well as potentially top 50 at empire 8. I have over analized track times and have come to the conclusion that whoever says they tempo the most races will be the team that thinks they could've ran way faster at the beginning of the season. I also think that the winner of regionals will be someone who has gone under 18 minutes in the 5k. I know these are some bold predictions but this is what I truly believe. I know you may not agree with me but let the discussions begin. Also with Trevor Bib gone who will the top ginger in the region be?
Bold predictions, yes, but I like your tenacity an willingness to make the tough calls. The heir apparent to top ginger honors has to be 31 min 10k man Dan Nolte from Rochester, but will we see Fisher's Cleary or Topa come through to steal the crown? High drama indeed.
More importantly, lets get down to some real analysis here. Which teams are likely to be relevant this year? SLU, Genny, RPI, Rochester, Ithaca, NYU, Cortland, Fredonia [sic], Hamilton, and Oneonta seem likely to be the only teams with a shot at contending.
Perhaps even MORE importantly, which team will spend the most time on the boards this year, thereby sacrificing training and leading to an inevitable flop at Regionals? Will Lawyer Stitchcock make a triumphant return? Is that guy from Fisher who linked his school email address really that dumb? These questions and more will soon be revealed. Before that happens, we better start making bold claims about Fredonia (lol) and Pat Fannon's while still eligible to say "I told you so" later. Lets hear some analysis people!
Lets be honest this is how 2015 is going to play out:
- Geneseo will win regionals and then give a good battle for last place at Nationals.
- St. Lawrence will look like a Top-5 in the nation team in September then struggle to beat teams coming out of the pathetic South & West Regions.
- Cortland will tempo from mid-August to regionals in November and then decide to race at Nationals.
- Ithaca will have the top-7 best track times in the Region but 7 worst XC times in the Region.
- NYU will complain about how hard academically it is there and that they get 2 hours of sleep a night and use it as an excuse as to why they aren't running well.
- Oneonta will throw down some impressive races and get super hyped up to only disappoint all the fan boys at Regionals
- Fredonia will be painfully average as they are EVERY SINGLE YEAR
- Wells College will keep throwing money at Jack Daniels to coach 4 runners for the year.
- Alfred will be trying to challenge Houghton for last place at the Empire 8 Championships
- Brockport will still suck in XC but when criticized will talked really loudly how they won SUYACs and ECACs in track.
- Buff State will take the year off to go to Africa and recruit more runners.
Word on the street is that TCNJ has a new coach. Not sure if that's significant. Probably not...
I hear the SUNY ESF coach took an especially large and difficult dump this morning. Describing this as a transcendental experience, he may now be able to coach mediocre athletes into the class of the region. Is this significant?
Word on the street is that SUNYACs will be held in Plattsburgh NY. Due to Plattsburgh's long winters (August-May) the runners will be forced to compete in snowshoes. I could see many SUNYAC teams showing up to regionals with amputations due to frostbite. This weather could play into Potsdam's strengths and I can see them walking out on top. This is just speculation though...
Not a single one of these joke posts have been funny. The only actually funny posts are going to be team members discreetly trying to talk up their own team without being obvious. Do better, AR
On a more serious note, does anyone have any idea about the recruiting classes coming into the AR this year?
Where's that guy who cares way too much about d3 cross and will post a ridiculously in-depth and inaccurate analysis of what probably won't happen at regionals?
Where is he? I need to ask about his predictions!
d3 girls training hard, partying hard! Can't wait for the 2015 races!
My ladies and I will throw it all on the line! But lets be real, doe. It's a MUST to save some energy for the party that night!
First of all, I am interested to see whether Amy Regan runs this season and if she doesn't who will take over as number 1 in the region. However if Amy runs, she will destroy I-G-G-Y and all the rest of the d3 girls.
On the guys side.
St. Lawrence returns 5 of their top 6 and ran great as a pack last year. I think they will be a tough team to beat.
Geneseo returns 6 of their top 7 and we will see what Moore can do with the team. They stand the best chance of taking down St. Lawrence.
RPI will be close behind these two teams. Ben Fazio will fight for the top spot in the region. Led by this All-American, I hope to see RPI make nationals as a team.
Oneonta could be next but will not make nationals and all the fan boys will be upset.
Ithaca has had some fast runners on the track and I think they will be top 5.
I am hungry now. I will be throwing down in the Doritos locos taco mile. Wish me luck!
You heard it here first, That bastion of academic superiority ROWAN will up an surprise the region this year. Down and dirty Dustin getting some good jersey kids with issues. As you all should know, in D3 a few good guys can quickly change a teams fortunes.Anyone else getting any recruits? NYU usually brings some kids, they had a new coach this year, see what he got. SUNY G always gets solid NY state kids whose parents cant or wont pay for private schools.

Rowan is not one of the top 5 schools in the region academically.

Whoever it is had got some big spandex to fill.
Also, I heard that suny g has a strong incoming class
Predictions for the upcoming season: Podrick Payne will kill everyone and kiss Danaerys on the lips.
You sir obviously dont go to one of those top 5 school either, since you obviously cant see sarcasm when it smacks you in the face. My point was they can get anyone in, thus giving them an edge now that they actually have a younger coach out there selling it.

1. Geneseo
2. SLU
3. RPI
4. Oneonta*
5. Cortland*
6. Hamilton*
7. Ithaca*
*dont make nats, only 3 teams because of poor performances of AR teams in the past
lol RPI had their best shot the past 2 years. Fazio will go to nationals, the rest of the team will slog it in
