I am no fan of Hillary but can someone explain the controversy here? It sounds like people are saying that she may have known that the attack was well coordinated and planned versus a spontaneous uprising of people angry about an anti-Muslim movie. Is that it? Because in "the fog of war" at the time and even for several weeks to months it may not have been exactly clear what happened. Ultimately, the motivation for the attack really doesn't change the tragic fact that American lives were lost.
Now, if the controversy is that she and/or the adminstration had knowledge of a planned attack and errors were made in regards to counter measures to prevent the attack--well now that might be more significant. However, this latter scenario seems a bit out of touch with the facts that 1) This attack occurred in a chaotic Libya which by definition is unstable / unsafe 2) Any post-attack analysis of pre-attack intelligence data suffers from inherent bias (i.e. It's easy to say the data clearly indicated a pending attack after an attack has occurred, one could say the same thing about W and 9/11/01 but that's unfair / armchair quarterbacking).
I have to agree with prior posters that the GOP really needs a more relevant issue to focus on in regards to Hillary. The Clinton foundation money scandal seems more concerning than this Benghazi tragedy.
