SEMI-BRIEF BACKGROUND: Current Senior in highschool, injuries began sophomore year, been out for 2 years as a result. Started with stress fractures, then compartment syndrome, with a host of other things like knee pain and posterior medial stress syndrome.
I had surgery for the compartment syndrome, strengthened my legs, ankles, core, etc., improved my diet, take supplements, stretch, and I just can't seem to run.
I have seen various doctors, coaches and biomechanics specialists, they all just say take time off, then I do that, and no improvement.
When I run I am conscious of my left leg... Kind of like when you manually breathe, It's like that with my left leg. It feels different when it lands.
Anyway, so after a lot of strengthening and ONCE AGAIN trying to run, today I bought the Hoka One One Mafate Speed, hoping the cushioning would help. I went for a run today, and it felt "fine", I was still conscious of my left leg, however several minutes in, I got horrible knee pain in my left leg, so I was forced to stop running. I tried again after a few minutes and the pain returned to my knee almost immediately. I don't know what do to at this point. The shoes I was running in before were the Asics Gel Foundation 8's, but I was told they might be too supportive of my arches. HELP!! IT'S BEEN TWO YEARS AND I FEEL ALONE, ALL I WANT TO DO IS RUN AGAIN BUT EVERY TIME I TRY I EITHER GET INJURED OR PAIN ARISES. I have spoken to so many people, and most people don't want to bother once they realize the depth of the situation.
