Pretty good stuff:

''When this story aired on the news we were pretty surprised,'' the mystery man's wife wrote in a portion of the letter quoted by The Townsman. ''For me, I'm not mad. Believe me, our friends have gotten a lot of mileage out of this story and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching them give my husband grief!''
The wife continued: ''While this may not be the ending that you had hoped for, that spontaneous, silly moment in Wellesley captured the fun, energy and spirit of the Boston Marathon. I greatly admire your spunk and courage and wish you many happy races in the future. Congratulations on your Boston finish!''
Wow - Woman seeking man she kissed at marathon hears from his wife

Welp, he'll be posting in the post-nuptual shutoff thread soon.
Poor guy. -
Call me!

I knew it. There was something about this story that didn't sit well with me. I didn't like the woman's comments saying..."oh, I hope he's not married."
Have we gotten to the point in our society where we not only have to ponder that possibility but it ends up being true?
Sorry, infidelity hits too close to home. -

He's in the doghouse for sure. -

It was the woman who was dared to kiss the man, not the man to kiss the woman. The woman tries to find out who this guy was - the wife responds with a very diplomatic reply but the woman is set straight that the guy is not available. And yes, not infidelity. I think that polite reply kept the woman from making a big fool of herself. -
How is kissing a woman who is not your wife not infidelity? Seriously, enlighten me on this.

jamin missed a key opportunity.
As for the unfortunate dude in the news, that kiss will likely be his last. -

Infidelity is the subjective feeling that one's partner has violated a set of rules or relationship norms; this violation results in feelings of sexual jealousy and rivalry (Leeker & Carlozzi, 2012).
The wife tactfully and politely pointed out the fact that the man was married, congratulated the woman on finishing her race, and wished her well. I wouldn't call that sexual jealousy and rivalry.
My wife has kissed other men before in frivolous fun situations (on the lips but nothing "deeper.") I would be an insecure ass if I were to call that infidelity. It doesn't appear that this "Marathon Kiss" involved anything but a smooch on the lips from an anonymous stranger. No emotional ties, nothing. Relax. -
Wow, I had no idea our standards had become so loose. Now it's okay for spouses to go around kissing other people on the lips. And the only way it's considered infidelity is if the cheated partner feels sexual jealousy. What about the guy's responsibility to be faithful?
I'm a happily married man and I would never kiss another woman who is not my wife. I simply have no interest. And if my wife did that to another man you'd better believe I'd have a problem with it.
This is depressing. -

Is the depressing part that you're beginning to realize how insecure you are, or just from fear upon realizing that not everyone follows your primitive High School-level moral code? -
I would hope I'm not alone in my sentiments but LetsRun is not exactly a place of high moral caliber so I won't allow myself to get too disillusioned.

Don't worry there are some good guys out there, not me, but others. I worked with a guy who travelled for business, a bit. If he went out to eat with a female co-worker, he called his wife, not out of fear of her, but respect for her. He wouldn't want someone else on the trip to say something stupid and an incorrect rumor get around to his wife. So there are chivalrous guys around.

Sorry for your experience. I'm sorry for any dude that's been cheated on. It's happened to me a few times.
The wife's reply, above, was great, and in spirit with the Boston Marathon being such a marathon that people celebrate, both runners and spectators.
No harm, no foul, on the gal wishing the guy was single.
Every single one of my single female buddies wants to find Mr. Right.
Totally natural, healthy, and she was Honest. -

Was your wife a virgin or whore before you saved her by marrying her? -

You'd really be depressed if you knew what we do together hahaha. -
Married 20 years, never kissed another woman on the lips. But I have sucked a few strippers breasts during private lap dances at the more liberal club (you know, the ones that allow touching).
What's worse? I would say kissing another woman on the lips. -

If she does that in front of you what's she doing behind your back - an unemotional bang - same applies to the marathon kissing guy he does that with witnesses he is up for banging her
