How the hell can this guy:

1. Run 100-130 miles per week

2. Barely eat

3. Drop 13 pounds below what his body clearly thinks is normal when he actually feeds himself

4. Not get injured

Maybe he used to be that light when he wasn't a masters runner but it's obviously not natural for him anymore. I give him one more year of this before he gets a pelvic stress fracture or something like that

Bernard Lagat does the same thing. I'd say they're both doing alright for themselves.

Lagat isn't running nearly as much as Meb. 70 miles max. And I can't find anything about him barely eating.

Dude, his genetics are East African. They are built super light, most have great natural mechanics, and can survive a week on a handful of millet. He'll be fine.

Because that's what champions do.

See the guy running all the time. He also rides those ridiculous eliptical bike things and a regular bike too so he can reduce impact.

But yeah, he is a freak of nature.

Lagat takes time off (no running for a number of weeks) after a season and puts on a good amount of weight.

You are right, it's genetic. I'm East African & I weigh 125lbs (5'8") although I eat 3 times a day & haven't run more than 5 miles per week since high school (I'm 28).
