I got a question? They keep saying Baltimore is STILL in bad shape from the 1968 Baltimore riots, and I have heard Miami Detroit and MANY other cities are still in bad shape from riots 30-50 YEARS ago.
There is a famous picture of Hiroshima and Nagasaki AND Detroit from 1945, and then a fairly recent picture (2012-2014) of the 3 cities and on the more recent picture it says guess who won the war?
Why were the Japanese cities able to rebuild to great looking modern cities, while Detroit looks like a sh--hole?
We are much richer as a country than Japan.
American are a lot smarter than the people in Japan.
Americans are harder working and more disciplined than Japan.
Based on these facts why do Japanese cities look and are in much better shape and their cities are much cleaner than ours? Example when I watched the Tokyo Marathon I did not see any graffiti on any of the buildings or any litter anywhere, also I did not see any security gates/chains in front of doors
And in pictures in magazines/books in crowded parts of the city, the houses don't have bars that make it look like a jail cell, I have written letters to politicians for years asking them to ban chain security gates in front of stores and bars in front of windows of houses because it makes the cities look crappy and demand businesses get rid of graffiti on their store walls and on sidewalks.
I want us to have the cleanest, best looking cities.
