Not if weather predictions hold true.
Plus in races with this many high caliber athletes they sometimes get competitive rather than running within themselves.
I thought the weather was going to be good? Cool, dry...
It's not going to happen for a number of reasons.

The weather for London on Sunday says high of 53 and low of 39 and rain, kind of perfect right, as long as the rain is not super hard.
The odds are always against a world record though.
I'll take that bet. Too much talent for a WR.
Too cold and wet will cause the runners to lose heat and energy too quickly.

How does a race with 5 guys with sub 2:05 PR's imply a World Record, especially when the WR is 2:02:57? Plus there's huge money on the line, it's going to get a little tactical, they're just concerned about winning, not the actual time; London is the most prestigious marathon to win, if these guys had any ambition in breaking the world record they're going to gear back up and go for it at Berlin in October!
probably not, but who knows?
so many runners with great prs in the history of the olympic finals or in the history of the world championship finals - and what happened?
-ship races rarely produce the time trial like conditions needed to WR. It's all about winning the Championship (and $).
I was just making a bold prediction, If you remember Boston even though not a world record course, had some pretty fast times one year. times no one thought where possible on that course, granted the weather was fantastic.
t
you talking about Berlin?
Name the last marathon WR race that contained 5 guys with PRs within 2 min of the WR.
I haven't crunched the numbers, but I guess the sweet spot is 2.
In 2011 Geoffrey Mutai ran 2:03:02 in boston which broke the record by nearly 3 minutes, did any one predict that? Maybe one or 2 people did.
We shall see what happens
no world record,rain ,wind ,humidity

And it didn't count as a world record because it was Boston, a point-to-point course that is ineligible for world records.
There was a 20 mph tailwind that day. Everyone ran spectacular times. It's not the same.

He didn't break the world record.
Agree. Kimetto for the win in the first sub-2:02. Going through 1:01.30
halfway and breaking the field at 30K. Last 5K in 14.00.
the weather is miserable
it's cold, it's wet
i doubt anyone will break 2"05
if they do, it is a wr calibre run
I was dead wrong. Still great race
