The talent in both the men's field and the Women's is just mindboggling. How can they get these athletes to run in one race? Wasn't Renato Canova supposed to be coaching the Chinese to be top marathoners?

Because the best Japanese women these days run 2:25-2:26 and the best Chinese women run 2:28-2:29, even with Canova coaching them. Not London material. Better off sticking to domestic races and the odd silver or bronze label race.
