Well, Boston was pretty lame for me today. The conditions weren't really THAT bad until the last few miles, when it got windier with steady cold downpours. Oddly, those were my fastest miles of the day (of course, they are downhill...)
Anyway, I figured I was in 2:55-3:00 shape and clocked a 3:02, which included a porta John stop, so I was probably about right with the 3:00. I've had stomach issues in my past few marathons. Not sure what's up, but I'll straighten it out.
Retrospectively, my complete absence of midweek medium-long runs caught up to me. I just didn't have good aerobic speed. In general I was quite undertrained.
Live to fight another day. Hopefully Tortoise and Odysseus fared better than me.
Looking forward to no running for a week or so.
