That would be so great. I might want to go to Pre. Maybe go to Pre and then Adidas and possible witness 2 of the 7 HS boys who broke 4:00.
3:42.54 at the same pace is 3:59.85 for a mile.
interesting note is Blake Haney also ran unattached and came very close to the sub four converted as well yet he is a freshman in college. Matthew Maton is one day older than his future teammate.
actually the austrian and oregon frosh, franzimer, beat Maton. this is better than maton's run for a couple reasons: 1) he has been pegged as an 800 runner but clearly, he has 1500 chops that are untapped and 2) he is younger than maton even though he is a college frosh and maton a HS'er
both perfomances are great for the ducks' future. with haney, they should be a penn relay 4*mile winner in the next year and beyond.
this year, will also have a good shot with with sam prakel / geoghen / ches / gregorek / franzimer / or melancon.
It was the Oregon Relays in Eugene.
He finished 4th behind Mac Fleet (3:40+) and a couple of others.
Someone else here says he's 19 now---yet still a HSer.
So he's really the age of a college frosh...or soph!
Not as impressive as Fisher, for that reason!

No, Franzamir is 20 years old and more than a year older than Maton.
Really not that hard to look these things up.

Wow, tough crowd here.

You are right, it is the same pace but thats not how it works. There is a little added on to the conversion because you have to imagine that by the time the runner arrives at 1500m he is completely out of gas and could not run the same pace for another 100m.

Actually, he's not right. 3:42.54 for 1500m is 3:58.76 mile pace. I mention this to point out that the "conversion difference" in relation to pace is rather significant (about 1.5 seconds) rather than only half a second.
He ran the 1500 not the mile so quit it with your dumb conversions!
Whoops I did that incorrectly.
3:42.54 x 1.08 = 4:00.35
Clearly, he needs to do more jumping jacks.
If he runs 3:42 off of "weird" jumping jacks, then giving the ventolin^^3 adjustment of 0.45^^jj/1.88m, 47^^= 3:2748^^= 3:2949^^= 3:31

Maton is 19 year old and is essentially 13 months older than Fisher.
That is a significant difference. Much like Ches's age difference throughout high school and now in college. Age alone can have a significant impact at the elite level. Thus results are tainted.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
