Nice run for the high school senior. Looks like running unattached is working well for him so far!
It also looks like there is another serious threat to break 4min to go with Grant Fisher.

wow. cant wait till he and fisher race at the dream mile. Maton's time converts to 4:00 for the mile. By the time dream mile comes around i'd be surprised if both weren't in shape to break 4.
I think 3:42 converts to 3:59. Great run, he was patient and didn't go out too hard.
4:00.3 by standard 1.0798 conversion factor.
Very impressive and congratulations. He is already 19, full year older than Fisher.
converts to 4:00.34
3:42.2 = 3:59.95
3:42.54 = 4:00.32
Still one of the fastest 1500s ever for a HSer.
What meet was this at?, today?? Please help me understand
It is a shame the mainstream sports press won't give these kinds of accomplishments much attention. It is not easy to get decent press coverage for soccer and track. At least now the Sporting News is covering soccer regularly.

A full year? list the birthdays please.
Enter the names and you will see for yourself.
Last time I looked 3:42.2 was the four minute conversion. clearly a monster run
Is he 19 or 18 now,
He is 19, should be a frosh in college, not such a big deal.
What event and when was this run, no one has mentioned anything about what track meet. I want to see results with my own eyes
I think I've ruled out Azusa, Sac, and Oregon. Very curious where he did this.
^Oregon relays.
Well the average age of a high school senior at graduation would be roughly. 18 yrs 3-4 months. I'll still be excited :)

he is indeed 19 years plus 20 days
Still a big deal, especially since privately trained I would guess?
he and Fisher is the big match up I guess?
IAAF Juniors must not turn 20 during the competition year that means born in 1996 or later. The HS record list is different depending on who is publishing it. Too confusing for me I stick to the IAAF breakdowns.
After the school year/ after State Champs/ after state graduation date
Not running for their HS team
Not in a sanctioned HS meet
running against professional or college runners
Amazing run by Maton! It is time.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
