After having read through this thread, there is one thing with which I can agree unequivocally: Dathan Ritzenhein is an ashole, along with anybody else who does anything like this.

Every NOPer is a doper. Without exception. All NOPers are dopers.
Or at the least NOPers can not think for themselves. Only do what you'd admit to your grandma... Grammie, I injected L-C to see if I'd get a performance advantage, but it didn't work :(

Plus, anybody injecting themselves with anything, or letting someone else inject them with anything, to improve athletic performance, is a **** including Dathan Ritzenhein.
It is interesting how a lot of people draw the line with injections even when they are legal.
If injecting l-carnitine is easy to do and harmless, then why does someone need to fly to a doctor in Houston to get it done? Couldn't a local GP do it like an allergy shot? Or is it some more complicated medical procedure?
WADA states that if two of the following three guidelines are violated, then a substance is prohibited:
1. Does it provide a performance improvement?
2. Is it administered in an unnatural manner?
3. Does it violate the spirit of the sport?
Now, #3 is BS, but the last time I checked human beings don't normally ingest food via injection. So if a substance is injected and provides a performance improvement that is enough to make it prohibited.

Sad -- pathetic, even.
