After his 8:03 2M, I wouldn't doubt him getting the WR at all, it will be tough, but I think he can do it

I hope this doesn't end up tactical though, it could very well be a 58:45-59:00 race

Farah has proven himself to be an exceptional distance runner - but his best times have come at the 1500. His speed at 1500 is unreal.

The half-marathon is more than twice as far as 10,000. He's done NOTHING in his career to indicate he's capable of anything close to 58:23 other than win 2 global titles at 10,000.

According to John Kellogg's conversion chart 58:23 is roughly equivalent to 26:23 for 10,000.

Sorry guys. Farah's good but not that good. He's got about as much of a chance of that as breaking 3:30 in the 1500 - oh wait ;)

I am a fan of Mo but he clearly has no interest of a world record attempt. He probably just wants to run a good time, win, and make some cash without hurting his track training too much.

You failed at reading the article. It says Farah is going for the 100k pound prize for a WR. The race director said they (implying hired rabbits) were going out to set the pace.
