Who have you got?
Soratos and his 3:55 if it is slow or fast
Cheserek if it is fast.
If it's slow maybe Kidder or Neal (who was 3rd in the 800m outdoors)

How about Rotich. He's been good this year.
Kidder has run under 1:48 and under 3:58
Why do we always have these discussions? The King will reign again.
This one is very hard for me to predict. Seriously, when is the last time an NCAA 10k champ won the mile? When is the last time a guy who has never made NCAAs but it as senior wins it?
As a result, i punted.
But our preview is up where we break it down:

Robert,
As impressive as Cheserek winning the mile would be, I'm going to pump the breaks on you a little. The last guy who won the mile/10k at NCAAs was Lawi Lalang...two years ago (though he hadn't won the 10k at the time of his mile victory).

About par for the course for the Brojo's perspective and knowledge about their sport.

Hopefully Kidder does SUCK a big one like he did at B1G

How much of difference do you think the experience of the coaching staff make? Presumably the oregon miler/mid-d coaches have a lot of experience priming guys to win the indoor championship, whereas the montana state coach staff may have less experience. The impact being that Cheserek could very well be on an upswing and ready to run faster than 3:56 but Soratos's 3:55 may have been his best performance of the season.
Its all conjecture and I'm actually pulling for Soratos here, but coaches are supposed to matter right?
19 points at the conference meet isn't sucking a big one. Try again jackass.

Eh.. blew up and sucked in the mile(seriously only ran a 4:11?) should have been able to close faster than what he did, blew up sucked in the 600, had a decent race in the DMR. Need I say anymore? Oh and more like 11.5 points, come on, have you ever ran track, you dont get all the points for a relay mannn.
CHEESE has this.
Mannn,
Him and his teammate went 1 and 2 in the mile. Why would they push the pace anymore than needed since they were doubling multiple events? If you think sucking a big one is going 1st, 2nd, and getting 8th in a third event after five races to try and score points for your team, then clearly you've never competed at anything.
Try something else because you aren't even close on this.

Are you familiar with championship racing? Especially at conference meets, the distance races tend to go out remarkably slow. I was at B1G and it went through half mile in 2:12. A 4:11 after a first half of 2:12 is not too shabby.
When was the last time the ncaa leader in the mile actually won the final? Couple this curse with Soratos' inexperience and I'll bet against him this season. Maybe outdoors if he can keep it up.
Now, Cheserek may not be a miler but he has shown a variety of ways to compete. His 336 in the pac 12 1500 last year is a better performance than anyone else in the field can claim, despite the loss. We are all aware of his fantastic kick, as well. My fan choice and my logical choice. I'd love to see him grab a mile title and he has a chance no matter how it plays out.
Rotich has to be the dark horse. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if he won but he hasn't shown much this indoors.

No love for Sam Penzenstadler of Loyola (ILL)?
7th indoor, 3rd outdoor last year
Go to ESPN3 and check out the MVC Indoor Championships. Was in 6th place with a lap to go... Kid has speed. Don't count him out.

Place isn't a speed. Exactly how fast was his last lap?
