The hand thing ("I'll check my hand"). Dieter Meier is also a professional poker player.
Boris Blank was the founder of Yello. My hint was a blank yellow post.
Kudos to those who solved the riddle and added more clues. Well played.

Ted. I was not quoting Caddyshack, FWIW.
Anyone ever notice the resemblance between Ferris' buddy Cameron and Andrew awheating?

good puzzle Malmo. Esp the 'yellow' clue - how'd you think of that one? (rhetorical)
A random act of madness, agip.
Boris Blank was the founder of Yello, teamed up with Meier right before Oh Yeah!... hmmmmm.... a good clue would be a blank post. So I made a blank post and noticed the background was ...chicka chicka chicka -- yellow. Hmmmm...bee-yooo-tee-full....
Oh yeah

I actually search-engined the date and got this list-
Birthdays 1 - 5 of 5
- Dieter Meier, Swiss singer/children book writer (Yello)
- Frank Novak, American actor
- Jaime Tirelli, actor (Orlando Lopez-Ball Four), born in NYC, New York
- Tara Browne, British socialite (d. 1966)
- Tommy Svensson, Swedish football manager
No idea who any of them were. and frankly saw no reason to think anyone of them would be the topic of the post. I figured it was some one famous to the general population and none of these folks seemed to actually be famous.
the universe of pop culture trivia is close to limitless.
I know the name of Arthur Godfrey's horse and I expect most folks on the board would say who is Arthur Godfrey never mind which horse he rode in on. Speaking of horse trivia--- a famous (to those who follow these things) Olympic Show Jumper died in the middle of a completion in NYC's Madison Square Garden and still took fourth in the event!
None of these posts matched with anything in your google search?

Hi Malmo,
I was a distance runner in the mid 1970's.
I ran a 2 mile race with Steve Prefontain in the 1975 Sunkist Indoor Invitational.
I was looking for photos on the internet for this race and happened upon a site called Flicker. Flicker had one photo of the race and said that it got the photo from "LetsRun" and that "Malmo" posted the photo. If this is so, do you have other photos of this race? I appreciate your help.
Thanks
Found the result, but did not find another photo.

I appreciate your efforts.
Dang man. 2 secs behind Shorter. Not many can say that. Nice job.
