Senator Elizabeth Warren knowingly told and benefited from a fabricated story about her heritage for over three decades (she claimed to be part indian), ala Brian Williams.

I heard once that there was a vice presidential candidate that misremebered his marathon time. Can't recall his name...
You don't have a clue as to what you're "talking" about. O'Reilly is an opinion show. No different than Al (not so sharpton) on MSLSD, or Maddow on the same "network". The actual news on Fox isn't biased at all. In fact, it's become too much of what it claims to be:fair and balanced. I don't have TV anymore, but if I did, I would only watch Fox for it's opinion shows and not for it's news.
With Fox news today, you can't even get a sports score w/o folks representing both the
right and left giving their analysis. That sucks! i want my old-pre 2005 Fox back. The version when it was all Right all the time. That's the reason Murdoch (one of the worlds biggest gun control advocates BTW) and Ailes founded Fox:To give another side of the news they saw (and were right, of course) as being too PC, as they termed it back in 1995 or close to it. Now, all they want to do is kill all the other cable news networks in the ratings, and that's exactly what they are doing...but w/o my contribution.
OReilly just completely owned you dbags.
I am quite surprised to learn that O'Reilly was ever suspected of NOT lying.

Umm... constructing a lie that led directly to undeserved opportunities that benefited you throughout your career = mis-remembering a marathon time that 90% of hobby joggers can't recall in an off-hand statement during a walk-by interview ?

Yet you cite the network glen beck had to create after he became too nutty even for fox?! Bless your heart.

Step away from the crackpipe.
Are you through yet? Oreilly proved the issue is false. End of thread.
oreilly's audience primarily consists of the dead, and near-dead. Which are you?

Is this equivalent in "degree"....regarding Bush's justification for invading Iraq...
....whether the secretary (Colin Powell) would repeat the statement, first made by President Bush in his state of the union address several days earlier , that "the British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."
Or does it only count if it's a liberal politician / public figure who is previewed to be liberal lying? I though you were independent / "libretarian".

Leftwing nutjobs are so predictable. Once proven wrong they pretend they havnt been, the assert the fallacy of the false equivalency, then the name calling.
Everybody is missing the way in which the Brian Williams thing and the Bill O'Reilly thing are, in fact, the same thing: it's about branding, and violating the brand.
The Brian Williams brand was: trust. That's how he and NBC news were pitching themselves. When the anchorman tells stretchers (as Huck Finn put it: "mainly the truth"), we've got a problem.
The Bill O'Reilly brand was: you've entered the No-Spin Zone. When the presiding spirit of the No-Spin Zone spins his own "wartime" reporting, we've got a problem.
That's the problem: O'Reilly spun his own experience. I don't see a huge ethical problem here. I just see a huge branding problem. So does he. That's why he's viciously attacking David Corn. But if you actually read Corn's reporting, it's all legit.

One HUGE difference. The Corn story has been proven false. It was a lie. Compare Corn to Williams. OReilly took Corn out to the woodshed tonight.

Its not the same. Far left writer from a far left magazine puts out a phony story, gets caught......the sound of crikets....
Your repetitious parroting of "far left! far left!" out you as one of those poor souls confusing the RWNJ echo chamber with the real world. Bless your heart.
Corn is a big fat liar! wrote:

WURD!
Interestingly enough, on the same page where O'Reilly talks about the Falklands in his book, that Mother Jones cites, he states that when GW Bush took office, taxes were at an all-time high. Perhaps tax revenue, but certainly not tax rates. Talk about spin...
People, these are the lies O'Reilly told: In his 2001 book, The No Spin Zone: Confrontations With the Powerful and Famous in America, O’Reilly stated, “You know that I am not easily shocked. I’ve reported ON THE GROUND IN ACTIVE WAR zones from El Salvador to the FALKLANDS.” (This is not true, and “on the ground” disputes O’Reilly’s claims that he was referring to covering the Falklands War from 1,000 miles away.)• Conservative journalist Tucker Carlson, in a 2003 book, described how O’Reilly answered a question during a Washington panel discussion about media coverage of the Afghanistan war: “Rather than simply answer the question, O’Reilly began by trying to establish his own bona fides as a war correspondent. ‘I’ve covered wars, okay? I’ve been there. The Falklands, Northern Ireland, the Middle East. I’ve almost been killed three times, okay.'” (Nope. The Falklands are 1,000 miles away from where O’Reilly and the rest of the CBS crew were.)• In a 2004 column about US soldiers fighting in Iraq, O’Reilly noted, “Having survived a combat situation in Argentina during the Falklands war, I know that life-and-death decisions are made in a flash.” (SURVIVED COMBAT SITUATIONS?)

I've been following this closely and still can't figure out what the supposed lie was.....O'Reilly was a correspondent at the Falklands war, no journalists were allowed on Falkland Island so they reported it from nearbye Argentina...O'REILLY never said he was actually on Falkland Island..What was not factual? C'mon liberals, tell me....
