24. 4:24. Hopped in the slow heat of a collegiate indoor track meet in the middle of winter marathon training.

Lap 1: Holy balls this is fast, I forgot how hard it is to run a race this short.
Lap 2: That lap was way faster than I wanted it to be and I'm still not in contact with the entire field. Did I seed myself that terribly?
Lap 3: I don't know how I'm still 20 meters behind the entire field. This hurts a lot. I suspect these people are idiots.
Lap 4: These people are idiots. They are all in my way.
Lap 5: This doesn't feel quite as bad after the initial shock of running faster than on the roads. Splits are actually even. Need to steadily increase the effort level from here on out and consistently pass people.
Lap 6: This hurts.
Lap 7: Match any early moves the people around you make without going all out. No one passes you.
Lap 8: Just go.
