Maybe I didn't explain it properly. This isn't a question whether he is going to run track or play football in college. He LOVES football and that's what he will do at the next level, whether it's d1, d2 or D3. He just wants to run track to increase his speed for football. The question is will he have a better chance lowering his 40 time by running track or working with a Speed and Agility expert?
Ok. Glad that he loves football. I got that he didn't necessarily want to run track in college. Running track, even in HS (and it sounds like his HS has a good program, so this will really be true there) is a commitment. Lifting in the mornings (the sprinters at my kid's school lift three mornings a week and then of course still have practice after school). Not sure of the time commitment if he works with a Speed and Agility expert. I'm assuming it would be less of a time commitment.
With the info we have now, including that the track coach is really good, I would say he'd be better off with track training. Fuels the competitiveness too which is good. If he doesn't have time for track OR he thinks he will hate it, then go the Speed and Agility route. That's how I see it.
