Not over the top and is common place. Several here have said this is "normal" to experience, but it seems like you are taking "normal" to mean "right." Normal means that it does happen. Whether or not you like for it to happen is completely up to you and your daughter, which is part of the point of a recruiting trip to begin with. It's probably better that she saw this on her recruiting trip instead of finding out after she commits to the school that the culture of the team does not mesh with her personal values.
