Wow. super-impressive run by Maks. Sticking with the big boys.
Curtis very impressive, too. Solid run by Colley.
True, obviously, did not look good at all.
Derrick looked tremendous. Made it look really easy.

I would like to see Derrick make a living on the TRACK! He does well in these xc fairytales, but not well on the track where the real racing begins.
Results
Derrick 36:20
Curtis 036:48
Ritz
Vail 4th
Smythe
Korolev
Colley 37:15

Wow. True not in the top 10. He was 6th in the World in 2013.
Can we just give him a world's spot out of appreciation for 2013?
Derrick, Rupp, Ritz, [some other guys]. That would be a top flight team. Too bad it'll never happen. Maybe if XC became an olympic race that would change.

The idea that Derrick would be in the same realm as Galen is laughable.
Tally up the individual NCAA titles.
What's laughable is the idea that Galen will ever put on his big boy pants and actually race against Derrick. Until he actually puts himself out there and races outside of his cryogenic bubble, he deserves all the scorn people throw at him.
She got that info from Let's Run, no doubt!

Assuming Ritz is out, Colley is on the team
If anyone else declines, two Army guys finished after that

If World Cross were on a perfectly manicured golf course, I agree Galen wouldn't have any problems with him.
But it's going to be muddy, it's going to be at altitude. Footing won't be good. Not saying Rupp couldn't beat him, but I think Derrick would have a pretty good shot. I don't think Rupp would destroy him by any means.
That's a great run by Korolev and shows you how good the NCAA is. Korolev was 4th at NCAA XC, 6th at USA XC.
Would Ed Ches have won this race? Over 12k, I think Derrick might get him but I think Ches beats everyone else.
Feed terrible. This is not surprising from the 'leadership' of the USATF which is the most dysfunctional organization organization I can think of besides maybe the Iraqi government or something like that. Complete imbeciles.
If I recall, rupp has an NCAA XC title, Derrick does not.
Lomong running XC next year?

Maks has spring eligibility, doesn't he?
I'm assuming he probably can't go to China.

Rupp was an also ran at the NCAA level until he had to get good as a senior to get a contract. If you even out the medications between the to, I think it would be a real contest.
Derrick is a better long distance guy. Rupp short distance.
Get off your high horse. Your boy Rupp lost to Ben Blankenship last week. If Rupp raced Derrick today, Rupp would have been crushed - with our without thyroid meds.

He does. Race would be on March 28. I don't see why he couldn't do it.

Good points.
1) I think regardless of the conditions if they had raced today that Derrick would likely have won. Rupp lost to Ben Blankenship last week.
2) I think Rupp could medal at world xc and could be great at xc. He won NCAAs afterall. But the course in Poland was one NCAA coaches would have been up in arms about. Definitely "not rupp certified."
I think xc is a great equalizer. Makes things much more interesting.

Are you drunk? Stupid? I actually think Derrick would have likely beat Rupp today. Derrick's strength is his strength and he looked at ease. However, your post is idiotic. Galen puts on his big boy pants as much as any American distance runner. You need to take off your anti-Rupp goggles. I don't care you don't like the guy, but he's certainly not afraid of racing top level competition.
