I knew a girl in high school who became involved in competitive body building in her learly 20s. Her boyfriend was another high school acquaintance who was a serious body builder and steroid user. The girl in question reportedly took all kinds of "body building supplements", and parallel with that activity had an enormous amount of psychiatric issues that culminated in her suicide in about 1985.
The common perception among those who knew her was that the steroid abuse led to her suicide. I don't know if that is true, or even if it is knowable. Perhaps she was prone to depression, and the steroid abuse and body building was a symptom of deeper psychiatric issues, rather than the cause. She was however, a wonderfully charming, beautiful, and "normal" 16 year old. Her suicide 6 years later shocked and surprised everyone.
Oh wait I got Luther confused with Teddy Pendergrass....

Let's just say Bruce does want to become a woman, I think a more relevant question is whether past steroid use could be influencing what is going on with him now. If he screwed up his hormones with steroid usage could that be behind some of what is going on with him now?
Research in the Netherlands some years ago where they studied the structure of the brains of cadavers, including a significant number of transgender samples, claimed to have discovered a structure responsible for gender identity. This means gender identity is fixed from birth and cannot be influenced by hormones.
Emotional behaviour however can be.
That's only relevant if we assume gender identity is the actual root of the issue. If Bruce Jenner used steroids in the Olympics (and we've all heard the stories about those days) many were using D-bol with no pct and no downtime, then his body could have stopped producing test naturally long ago and the brain would certainly be affected. He wouldn't understand or know why he felt like putting on nail polish for instance, he just would feel like doing so. (see lee priest youtube vid as well) It's obvious his features have become feminized over the years. Hormones certainly could be playing a roll here.

One did oil field/refinery work and the other was a shrimper. I went back to AL to help my parents clean up after a hurricane. One of the guys came over to help out - he was a hard core redneck, tough guy. He was running the chainsaw, barefooted, cut off blue jeans, shirtless, no gloves, no safety glasses, all while smoking a cigarette. It kind of broke all of the stereotypes that I had about gay guys.
Did he look like this guy?

But assuming this is true, why does being a transgender woman seem to manifest itself so consistently in the way it does. Transgender women always seem to want to be a particular stereotyped sort of woman. Surely there can't be a gene for wanting to wear nail polish or to dress up like Cher? Those seem like purely culturally limited things that can only be true at a certain time and place in history. Yet the (admittedly few) transgender women I have met seem to wear skirts, etc. more than any woman I know.
Evidently, Bruce will keep his unit, and he is not interested much in sex. He is also dating his ex-wife's BFF, a woman. This all looks like a reality TV show set-up.

Luther was a homo 100%. Teddy likely too. He was caught with a man dressed like a woman when he crashed his Cadillac that busted his spine.
Yes
Do any of the old timers remember DDR's Heide Krieger to Andreas Krieger ?
Massive use of PEDs in DDR seemed to be directed to female athletes,as in
Krieger case.
Has there been a transformation male to female in DDR archives ?
I know a lot of women who like to wear skirts and paint their nails. I also know straight males who do this too.
Also, gender identity and sexual preference are not the same thing.
The two trans women I have personally known were born with it. One of them I originally met in 3rd grade and she was in 2nd. She was born/known as a boy then, but identified as a girl despite no one influencing that behavior (this was in a conservative mostly Southern Baptist town in Texas). The other woman I know transitioned later in life as an adult, but is also a lot older so tried to fit into being "normal" to society for most of her life. She is featured in "The Sports Gene" book and recently wrote an article for the Washington Post:

That is the most relevant track and field question in my mind.
Wejo, in the Dianne Sawyer/Bruce Jenner interview, Bruce said that his gender identity feelings began when he was a small child. I'm pretty sure he didn't use steroids at that time. So I think your question has been answered.

One of these bi/homosexuals? - George Michael, Ricky Martin, Michael Jackson, Elton John??
or perhaps some straight guy - Phil Collins, Richard Marx, Kenny G, Michael Bolton,

mid-80's .. Ricky Martin was 13.
"singer" .. Kenny G is a (mediocre) saxophonist.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
