Now I get it. You don't understand the concept of being a great athletic fighter.
Admire the fighting ability including power, speed, agility and weapons or not.
You just don't appreciate the beauty of it. Too bad for you.
(You don't do competitive do you)
Ok. We will have a competition. You bring pound for pound the fiercest housecat in the world and I'll bring a mediocre Nile crocodile. We will bet $100k on it and the winner gets a trophy.
You'll admire the grace of a cat and I'll have $100k and a kick ass trophy.
I guess my final point is cats stink.

I didn't wach any of those.
I was walking up the sidewalk after running and there was a cat in the bushes just ahead of me.
The cat saw me, spurted sideways at full speed, banged into the hubcap of a moving car, went into convulsions and died.
(try again)
They were great videos. The jaguar swimming into the water to get to the croc was particularly interesting. Well done on the links.
".....?...." bringing up the whole cat/croc snarky post just got schooled by you. It could not have been more perfect.
Now "....?....." as a neutral observer I have to say just take the schooling like a man. Its no big deal and just appreciate the humor in the whole thing. After your post he posts three links showing big cats beating the crap out of crocs. (And please no copouts...they are not in deep water....or they are not house cats) Just come back and say shots of the big cats were cool.
Got to root for the cats against the reptiles.

Still didn't watch and I wont. But a few points. A jaguar is not a house cat. This thread is about house cats not all felines. I have no idea why the OP keeps claiming they are. And Jaguars dont live near Nile crocodiles. A caiman and a nile croc aren't comparable.
And if it wasn't actually a jaguar in the water like you state, then your cat knowledge is lacking.
After thousands of hours of stalking, my cat killed a squirrel. She was so proud and laid by it all day.
Cats are awesome. And a 5 lb cat can mess you up, I'd hate to run into an angry 500 lb cat.
Seriously, don't comment on something that you are afraid to watch. If you were comparing pound for pound fighters naturally the match for something size of a croc would be a big cat.
If you really think a jaguar and a croc would never be together, watch the second video, and come back and tell us what you discovered.
keeping cat off the roof
I didn't want this to be a dog versus cat thread. But I am seeing some anger directed at cats, so I have to throw some mud at dogs.
What's the major difference between a cat and a dog?
A cat will never eat another animals poop.
What has 2 legs, and is red all over.
Half a cat!
The Leiningen Versus The Ants story by Carl Stephenson made a lasting impression on me.

Big Dubs wrote:Jake is right. Aside from a few very specific dog breeds known for hunting or combat - think husky, doberman, pitbull, etc - the average housecat will rip apart most dogs of comparable and often greater size. I've even seen housecats scare off pitbulls and german sheppards.
Except most dogs are bigger than cats. His comparison isn't particulary relevant. Some pits might be scared of some cats, but any pit that fights any cat will win 100% of the time. Same applies to labs, goldens, German shepherds, etc. If a dogs mouth can fit a cat neck it in, there's no contest.
My neighbor's cat attacked my 70 pound pit-bull in the elevator lobby. The dog hid behind me. I managed to get between them and ended up bleeding from a cat scratch.
I used to have a really aggressive dog who lost a fight to a cat. The cat attacked him from behind, actually got on top of him and tried to scratch his eyes.
