It's your wife isn't it? Honestly, can we blame them for thinking that it is crazy for us to keep all this worthless crap that we may or may not ever look at again?
Of course you gotta keep what you gotta keep. I am at the point where I can easily donate shoes and can toss most magazines / programs. But for the other stuff... just look her in the eye and say, "I understand you may not understand, but this junk... it's important to me." Then, when she relents, give her a big hug (that you owe her anyway). And, there you go, problem solved.
