Believe me, you don't want The Virg! Dude is stuck in 1981.
Who else threw their hat in the ring to be nominated for the IAAF XC Committee?

I recognize that guy .... Does he sometimes fire off the gun at track meets?

No one else, it was just Bill and Craig.

Not true- there were more, but Bill and Craig were the top two.
Your assumption that any former elite athlete, especially Craig Virgin, would make a good coach, good representative, good agent, is totally flawed.
If you knew Craig Virgin you wouldn't let him drive your car. Or be alone with your wife.
Bill has selflessly dedicated his life to the sport, served at president of USATF with the interest of athletes in his heart (unlike Hightower) and continues to do so. If we are ever to get World XC back in the US, Bill is the man to make that happen.

Yes.
I've had good experiences with Bill and he has contributed a lot to the sport. I agree there is corruption in USATF, but there are a few good people involved too, so don't single out a person by name you don't even know. And how about contributing to the sport in a positive way yourself instead of whining?
Oh right, this is LetsRun.

Maybe my wife would like that sort of thing. They could use my car.
I threw my name in the hat for the XC representative. Figured it was a long-shot, but felt I was quite qualified. Felt like USATF needed some fresh blood and perspective. Maybe after 2016 they'll look at guys like me or when under new leadership.
Most governing body execs wear suits and hang out in VIP rooms at meets.....Bill wears a t shirt and hangs out with the athletes......enough said

Sorry, Bill and Craig were the only ones who gave speeches so I assumed they were the only ones. More than two people gave speeches for the women's position, so I assume you didn't have to be top two to speak.

I don't know you, but I could just kiss you.

Maybe the women's candidates weren't narrowed down by a committee? How many were there? I know for fact there were more XC candidates (including some who were at the National Meeting, besides Bill and Craig).

Four women gave speeches before the board. Technical committee was between David Katz and John Blackburn, and race walk I think there were only two but I wasn't paying very close attention to that one. So maybe two is the normal thing and it was weird the women had four, I guess since the numbers were not the same for each position I assumed that any candidate had the opportunity to give a speech to the board. But it does make sense that a committee would narrow them down in advance, I'm not on any of those committees so I wouldn't know.
whos David Katz and John Blackburn?
Bill Roe is amazing, hard-working and fantastic at what he does. He will never get stale

They were the candidates for the IAAF Technical Council nominee. Katz currently serves on the council. Blackburn is the chair of the USATF rules committee. They are both very technical guys!

This is like asking "Who's Mary Wittenberg?" or "Who's Dave McGillivray?"
Please take some time to educate yourself on the leaders in the sport.
Is Katz the guy that never ran a step in his life?

And your point is what??
As for Bill Roe, say what you want, the guy cares more about Xc and LDR than anyone in the federation and has the credentials and resume to back it up.
