I asked about de Oliveira's coaching style a week ago, this article offers some more tantalizing details. 63 different plyos, jeez that's a lot. I wonder how many times a week does he do this circuit training during each of the three training phases. Whatever it is, it's working for Krum right now.
going sub-3:30 isn't exactly an earth-shattering prediction for someone who is with two seconds of that already. I found it more interesting that Krum is the only runner to be top 10 in both the 800/1500. It used to be that the best 1500 guys were the best 800 guys and vice versa. It's good to see DK getting in that position.
Plyometrics seem to be the best actual training innovation in recent decades. Whenever I read an in-depth article on a breakthrough distance runner, they seem to credit a new emphasis on plyometrics as a major part of their improvement.
