Is it realistic to have a goal for this indoor season of breaking 9 minutes in the 3000m?
I'm 20 years old. My high school 3200 time was 10:46. My freshman year of college I ran the 800 primarily, but didn't enjoy the coaching for it very much.
My sophomore year I ran distance, trained for the steeplechase. I ran the 5k once in 16:37. (could of went faster, positive splits). My indoor 3k pr was 9:33. I was doing about 45-55 miles per week.
My 800 pr is 2:02.9 and my 400 pr is a 53.6 split.
I've built up to consistent mid 60 mile weeks over the summer and most of cross country season. I plan on getting up to mid 70's consistently for track. Is it in the realm of possibility for me to break 9 minutes this indoor season? I can answer any other questions that you have.
Thank you!
