Brian O'Neal is the cross country coach at Ole Miss, not VanHoy. Let's get that straight.
It's cold typing wit me wee little fingers on this teeny fone.
Me lucky charms will pox the rebels
O'Neal is the man, VanHoy is only his understudy.
You can't give Vanhoy credit for the men unless you also give him credit for the women. The fact is that he inherited both programs, and Kennedy did a better job building a team than Dawson did. He might be a good guy and a good coach, but it's too early to tell.
Listen: Brian O'Neal is the cross country coach at Ole Miss. Ryan VanHoy is only his assistant.
Me face is on a can of spaghettini O's!
Does Vanhoy get credit for Gavin having a big mouth and talking about his boss behind his back or does Gavin get credit for Vanhoy being a good guy? Both? #bitter #onlyyourselftoblame
How do these coaches get mentioned with Coach Gary? Though at Ohio State, had minimal scholarships and still got several teams to NCAA's (couple years Ohio only!) and produced great individuals that he went on to coach professionally. 8:20 in steeple, 3:34 and 13:20 and continues to do so.
Different level; not a Schumacher, Salazar, Wetmore, but certainly not a Watson or Vanhoy.
Watson has more resources than Furman and Vanoy is in weakest Regional ever with Gavin's recruits!
Vanhoy is one of the up and coming greats, honestly. You heard it here first.
Maybe for the next 3 months or so. Oneal is on his way out and if VanHoy plays his cards right he has an opportunity to take over everything.

I was purely using what Coach Gary has done at Furman as an example if the senario was different. Nothing negative was meant, I just wanted to make a point. End of!
Going back to the statements that "O'neal is the coach and Vanhoy is his assistant" obviously USTFCCCA believes it's the case.
Listen, personally I don't know Vanhoy so I have no issue with him. I do have an issue with people thinking he is this great coach when THEY know nothing. It's not hard to do a good job when you inherit quality athletes that your predecessor busted his ass to get. Without those guys Ole Miss is still a mid region team and this thread dosnt exist; or not for a few years.
Vanhoy is young, this will do his career nothing but good. However, staying at Ole Miss under the egotistical dictator O'Neal will destroy it.
I don't know about this Vanhoy guy, but O'Neal is obviously one heck of a cross country coach. This is like accepting the Nobel prize before showing up for your first day of work; Vanhoy got lucky with this situation and screwed from a lack of recognition for his work; so I guess it's evened out.

Brian O'Neal is the cross country coach at Ole Miss. End of story. Not sure why anyone thinks VanHoy has anything to do with this:

Wetmore took over CU after they finished 2nd at NCAA under Quiller. No one doubts Wetmore is one of the best coaches ever at the college level. Even though he did not build CU from the basement to a National Champion.

sounds to me like O'Neal is the coach at Ole Miss. Hence this interview after the South Region. Not one mention of Ryan VanHoy:
Ole Miss Head Coach Brian O’Neal
On Ole Miss taking home the team championship:
“I thought that our young men came in here with the goal in mind and that was to advance to the NCAA
Championship. They went out and executed the race plan perfectly.”
On the performance of Ole Miss’ top five runners, landing three in the top five:
“We have leaned on our top three runners all season. Those guys have stood there for us and have
really given a lot of confidence to our other freshmen. But again a great run by all of our young men.”
On the focus over the next week leading up to nationals:
“This is unchartered territory for us but we understand that this was a qualifying position. We did our
part and it’s on to the next meet.”
On the course in Tallahassee and Saturday’s race conditions:
“A great course; our hats off to Bob (Braman) and his staff for having this event. They did a great job as
always; the course is in great shape. There was nothing but rave reviews from not only our team but
everyone I have talked to so kudos to those guys.”
Navy SEALS killed Bin Laden and Vanhoy coached the runners. Obama takes credit for Bin Laden and Oneal is coach of the year? The good news is that in 2 years they'll both be unemployed.

obviously this is O'neal posting this diatribe. He likes hash tags. Another quick question of my own:
Will O'neal give credit to anyone other than himself for the men's 2nd place at SEC and Win at South Region?
Female coach having affair with male runner. Should I report it?
If Daniel's and Pfitz are outdated..then where do I look for modern training plans?
