The funny thing is that the "there's no such thing as talent" side is that they must live their life feeling terrible about "just not trying hard enough" to be an Olympian, or Boston winner, or WR holder.
The idea is stupid that I shouldn't even reply but I feel for the bait.
READ just about ANY elite distance runner's bio and they are very similar. They went out for X sport, but then tried track/XC/ road race and had immediate success, and within a short time they were not just the #1 runner on their team, they were winning state, etc..
That's talent.
