At Van Cortlandt Saturday, I think CBA was after St. Anthony's (2nd behind FM?). Don Bosco and Fordham Prep were both in top 10 merge results.

A few off the top of my head
In Tennessee...
Brentwood Academy has won a lot of everything. Bumbi went here.
Baylor School in Chattanooga was third at NXN-Southeast once.
McCallie School in Chattanooga.
Montgomery Bell Academy nearly made NXN a few years ago.
Brentwood High School might as well be a private school. Kids pay $400/month to a local private coach to run for them.
Bellarmine in the San Jose, CA area was a force in the 80s and 90s. Not sure if that still is the case.
In Oregon,
Jesuit and Central Catholic.

None of those things you said are true.
CBA DOES NOT recruit or give athletic scholarships.
They are one of (if not THE) best high school program in the country currently.
For boys, CBA and North Central (WA) have been the top 2 programs in the nation since the start of qualifying through a regional meet. Arcadia (CA) and York are not far behind. American Fork would be next maybe.
Any year that you do not qualify would hurt a bit in the overall program strength. That is where North Central would have the edge over CBA. They have qualified every year and finished within the top 8.
CBA though is not far from surpassing North Central. Maybe this year or next year.
Perham from MN. Not that they made nationals or anything.

This certainly didn't age well.
I think they are still pretty decent. In 2020 they were probably the best Non-Newbury Park CA team.
