This is what happens most around here. This path is pretty congested. A typical situation is runners/walkers on either side of the path going opposite directions, but staying to their right. A cyclist comes up and instead of waiting for either side to clear out, shoots the gap in between, basically a foot off your shoulder. At 20mph or whatever. It's so damn frustrating and completely avoidable if they'd just speed up or slow down to time their pass better.
Typically these guys are 20-something men who look like they're ready to ride in the TDF but apparently don't have the stones to train on real roads. I have little sympathy for any cyclist causes anymore.
