Working Stiff are you still trying to run really fast or it's not a huge priority anymore? What kind of race times are you posting up? Makes sense that running 80-90 would be at the expense of sacrificing other social activities. Wondering if I can get away with running competitive 5k's on lesser mileage. I'm still trying to figure out the good spot and how to schedule it all

Yes, running fast 5K's is a hope and a priority. I started running a couple years ago, but my PR's are steadily moving towards respectable (maybe not for the people on this site just yet). 19:45 two years ago, 18:30 last year, and 16:50 this year. I haven't won any just yet, but I'm hoping to dip below 16 next year and maybe bring home a trophy or two. I'm training for my first Half Marathon at the moment. The cool thing is, since I do all my running in the AM, I've been able to keep a decent social life together. I'm sure you can too.
100 hours
50 miles
Would like to run more but my super model girlfriend insists we attend a variety of social events.
Worked: 35 hours, typical week
Ran: ~80 miles, usually run 65-70
Beers drank: 4
Quit my second job a few months ago to free up time to train for my local marathon. This will be a comeback race of sorts. Needed less distractions work wise, and I make just enough now to get by.
